LAPD Appeal Denied - What Now?

I have a question regarding what happens after the review panel has seen an appeal and denies it. Let me give some insight as how I got to this point. I have been going through the hiring process with LA City since Dec 09, experiencing various delays along the way but I remained dedicated to the process. I have been successful throughout the entire process up until my psych interview when it was determined that I neglected to mention a previous work injury (approx 10 years ago) during my medical evaluation. My medical appointment was before I even had a sit down meeting with my BI, so from a medical standpoint I don't even think of this injury simply because it has been non issue for almost 9 years. When I met with my BI I did disclose the work injury to account for time out of work and workers comp payments received. The Background department checked into the injury and my claim against my previous employer and deemed it to be legitimet and cleared me from the background process. My medical exam went flawlessly, they would have never known I had the injury if I didn't mention it; I passed all aspects of their testing components. As a result, I appealed this decision to remove me from the process; they based their initial decision on a concern of my integrity. With my appeal I submitted approx 13 letters of recommendation / referrence from friends in various occupations ranging from police officers to doctors and city attorneys - there was even one from the Govenor's office. My oversight of mentioning this work injury during my medical process was not an intention to decieve in any way, it just is something that is far from my mind - medically speaking. Perhaps if I had the interview with my BI first it would have been more in the front of my mind since I disclosed it to them. Ok, here's my question - if the appeal was denied how do you keep fighting? I'm a firm believer that if something is worth having it is absolutely worth fighting for. I'm fighting for my career and a better life for my family so I have every incentive to push as much as I can. The interesting part about this is the background department is on my side, they believe this to be a technicality that medical services decided to blow up unnecessarily. I'm willing to do whatever, write to whoever, I just need some advise and direction. Any help anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time and help.

We are changing duty stations and I need advice!?

My husband and I just got married 3 months ago and he's been given orders to move to Ft Leonard Wood by Sept. So my little brother who's 12. Always plays call of duty: black ops and gran theft auto until about 4 in the morning. I don't know what to do or my dad and we can't tell him rules because he ends up saying i'll turn it off at 1 but never does until one of us wakes up. Overusing character names while writing?

I've noticed that a lot of amateur writers use phrases such as 'the taller girl,' 'the blond girl,' 'the Asian boy,' etc. for speech tags or in other situations as a substitute for the character's actual name. They also sometimes refer to the characters by their occupations such as 'the dancer' or 'the lawyer.' I understand why they do this--to avoid repeating the characters' names over and over--but to me, these phrases always seem a little awkward. As an aspiring writer, I'd like to know if anyone who has taken classes or who has done a lot of writing has an opinion or some suggestions on how to avoid overusing characters' names without using a substitute that only draws more attention. Or is it even that bad to use the name over and over? Any input would be appreciated, thank you.

There was no mention of this until a student (who happened to be black) asked "What are black separatists"? The professor said "Oh, those are racist groups like Yahweh ben Yahweh". At this point, I was fed up with the lack of objectivity and pointed out that Yahweh ben Yahweh was a group that systematically abducted and ritually killed homeless white people to the class. The professor then said "I don't know, but most of the racist acts are done by these(white supremacist) groups". He damn well knew. Best class in WoW (for leveling up?)?

9 times out of 10 someone will say Hunter is the best leveling class. I think a Subtely Rogue is best. The reason I like Sub rogues is because you can pretty much 1 hit anything in your level range with Ambush. Race wise, it doesn't really matter. The race bonusses are generally so small that the difference between a Troll, a Blood Elf, and an Orc are minimal. I'd suggest play around with hair, skin, and race styles and choose what you think looks best. Good luck leveling. :)

I have lived in North, Central, and South Florida and I think Orlando or Ft. Lauderdale are good places to consider. Lots to do and if you won't be living near family I would live near an airport so it is easy for them to visit you and you visit them. The sports majors are big in south FL so it would probably be really competitive for a job unless you have connections. But on the other-hand more sports teams in south FL than in central FL!

Pulmonary Embolism question?

I had bi-lateral pulmonary embolisms 5 months ago post-op and was hospitalized for a few days. My symptoms were 9/10 pain, could not move due to pain, shortness of breath, low sats, tachycardia, etc... The Doc said the pain should go away within 4-6 weeks. Since then, I have had the usual "zingers" of extreme pain which only last for a few seconds, and an ache of about 2-3/10 pain which comes and goes almost on a daily basis. But I have also occasionally been having signs of new PE's as well. This has happened about 3-4 times over the last 5 months, each time getting worse. Yesterday I had the *exact* same symptoms as my original PE with 9/10 pain, dyspnea, shortness of breath, etc... and But here is the kicker. These "attacks" are temporary and yesterdays episode only lasted about 10 minutes or so and left as quickly as it came. These are debilitating and cannot move or breath while I have them. I have to sit in a semi-tripod position and take very short, shallow breaths to keep the pain down. I have been treated for pleurisy (which I don't meet the criteria for but willing to try anything) and cannot distinguish the symptoms between my original PE and these episodes. However, I know that symptoms of a PE don't just "go away" like mine have been. I really feels like I have a sudden blockage of my vessel which breaks loose and allows blood flow again. Perhaps scar tissue or left over PE, I have no idea but am a Paramedic/Firefighter and return to work this week and CANNOT have this problem while on duty. My Doc doesn't know what is going on (she has referred me to yoga and acupuncture. I am looking for a new Doc right now) and need to get this problem fixed. I have searched the internet tirelessly and haven't found anything remotely comparable to my symptoms. Any thoughts?

How can I get this Call of Duty 4 mod to work?

I have Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and I downloaded the Reign of the Undead zombie mod and if someone else hosts the game it works fine. But if I try to host a game(I don't have broadband I'm trying to play a single player zombie game) There are three optoins: non-dedicated, internet or LAN. If I try to host it non-dedicated then it loads the map and I can walk around and everything and it says wave one: 20 zombies incoming but no zombies spawn. Every little while(a minute maybe.) something comes up saying something like punkbuster client in distress(you have to have punkbuster on to host non-dedicated). If I click on internet or LAN then(with punkbuster on or off) then the game closes and a new window called Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Console comes up with a bunch of stuff scrolling down in the console thingy. What batteries are best for rc car?

i recently purchased the call of duty black ops Prestige edition with the rc xd surveillance car with camera. for the past couple of days since i got it ive been putting new batteries in the car itself but i can never get a full read out from the display on the lcd screen where it shows the remaining battery power in the car, the remote control takes 6 batteries and the car also takes 6 batteries, the remote control is fine that showed 4 full bars for its batteries only today for the first time it went down to 3 bars, when i put in new batteries in the car itself i can never get anymore than 2 and half or 3 bars on the read out. it takes AA batteries, i tried normal energizer batteries and energizer rechargeable batteries, same thing. the energizer rechargeable batteries im using are the ACCU recharge 2450mAh.

I understand why they aren't showing the images of him dead because there's a chance that that could be used as a propaganda tool to further incite hate however I do think they should show an image of OBL just before he got shot.

I am an extensive interest in extraterrestrial studies, a little in the paranormal and I am an avid writer. LAPD Appeal Denied - What now?

I have a question regarding what happens after the review panel has seen an appeal and denies it. Let me give some insight as how I got to this point. I have been going through the hiring process with LA City since Dec 09, experiencing various delays along the way but I remained dedicated to the process. I have been successful throughout the entire process up until my psych interview when it was determined that I neglected to mention a previous work injury (approx 10 years ago) during my medical evaluation. My medical appointment was before I even had a sit down meeting with my BI, so from a medical standpoint I don't even think of this injury simply because it has been non issue for almost 9 years. When I met with my BI I did disclose the work injury to account for time out of work and workers comp payments received. The Background department checked into the injury and my claim against my previous employer and deemed it to be legitimet and cleared me from the background process. My medical exam went flawlessly, they would have never known I had the injury if I didn't mention it; I passed all aspects of their testing components. As a result, I appealed this decision to remove me from the process; they based their initial decision on a concern of my integrity. With my appeal I submitted approx 13 letters of recommendation / referrence from friends in various occupations ranging from police officers to doctors and city attorneys - there was even one from the Govenor's office. My oversight of mentioning this work injury during my medical process was not an intention to decieve in any way, it just is something that is far from my mind - medically speaking. Perhaps if I had the interview with my BI first it would have been more in the front of my mind since I disclosed it to them. Ok, here's my question - if the appeal was denied how do you keep fighting? I'm a firm believer that if something is worth having it is absolutely worth fighting for. I'm fighting for my career and a better life for my family so I have every incentive to push as much as I can. The interesting part about this is the background department is on my side, they believe this to be a technicality that medical services decided to blow up unnecessarily. I'm willing to do whatever, write to whoever, I just need some advise and direction. Any help anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time and help.

Call of duty Black ops zombies glitches?

Sometimes (well most of the time) on Zombies i'll be on and the sound will be out of time for example if we get max ammo or insta kill then it will not say "insta kill" and later on in the game it will play them all at once and sometimes when i buy a second gun it doesn't show up but does to other people? and after a game it's on a blank screen for about 1 minute instead of going onto that movie thingy it's very hard to play like this any idea why this is happening?

Hello. I am an assistant manager for a local gym in my area. My general manager quit about 4 months ago and we hired a new general manager. I trained her for about 2 months. She has never done the job right. I have assumed most of her responsibilities while she spends most of her days working out while on the job. A member complained to the owner of the gym. The owner came to me and asked me about it. I told him the truth. She is lazy and abuses her authority. She calls off all the time leaving me to have to come in and fill in on my off days. I thought he would fire her. Instead he told her exactly what I said and even told her I was the one who said it! She has been now adding extra duties to my job, making me fulfill more of her duties and has had an overall sour attitude towards me. Is it legal for the owner to tell her what I said? I was just answering honestly. I don't understand why I have to get punished for doing my job and being honest. I have worked there for 5 years! Her 4 months.

After meniscal surgery, how long will it be until I can squat?

I had my meniscus repaired back in January, and my surgery was more "heavy duty" than some because I'm still very young and I play sports. I had three sutures put in and was off of crutches after 6 weeks. Shortly after, softball season started and I couldn't play my main position, catcher, because I couldn't squat. It's now been 6 months and I still can't completely squat without feeling some tension on the front inside of my knee. My knee feels completely fine other than that. I've been pretty active and I'm just wondering if this is normal for a surgery like mine and if so how long will it be before I can squat again?

Xbox 360 Unplayable disc help!?

My xbox 360 got the red ring of death, and my friend had an xbox that wouldn't read xbox 360 games, We took his apart and I put My disk tray into his xbox 360, hoping that it would work... unfortunately it didn't, when we turned it on, it said play dvd, and we had call of duty in! I put in an actual dvd, it works perfectly! I also put in a CD and it works too! Before my xbox got the red ring, My disc tray never had any problems. I am guessing it is a problem with his motherboard. I have tried about 10 new games without scratches, all the same problems. I have looked this up on youtube, I have tried about everything I could find. I am super desperate and really need some help. Thanks in advance.

Removing oxidation from my MGB bonnet?

I have a 1980 MGB Roadster. As I don't have a garage I have use a car cover. All winter it was covered with no problems then a few weeks ago to out for a run to charge the battery still no problems. Put the cover back, which is fairly heavy duty, took it of today and the centre of the bonnet has completely discoloured. The bonnet is made from aluminium. Anyway I have tried T-Cut and it will not remove it. Are there any experts that can help please.

I never had a ps3 but had a 360 since 08, it took me up until late last yr to get the rrod and beside that the game experience is fun, u have to pay on xbox where on ps3 its free, the xbox 360 slim doesn't get rrod I leave my xbox running for 4 days at a time and haven't had any problems with overheating ( the slim u have to sit down flat so it gets full air circulation) its up to you which u prefer, but I'm letting u know they fixed all problems with the xbox there are no more rrod if u buy the slim they had plenty of time to work out the kinks of what causes the rrod so I'd say u r safe, but I think its all about preference these days, also think about security, ps3 was down for weeks because of a hacker stealing peoples credit identity... Black Ops Render Clips Upload To Youtube?

I tried to upload a video clip from my fileshare on Black Ops to Youtube, but it didn't show up for some reason. I linked my account to Youtube from the Call of Duty website. But when I looked in the Theater on COD site, their wasn't any video clips. Their were the screenshots I took but no videos. I rendered them, but for some reason it didn't show. Yes, however the gore is not nearly as visual as the higher systems because of graphics limits. You can also limit gore in campaign by going to single player then options

I've been with this girl on and off for 2 years now. I've grown to like her a lot, maybe I just got accustomed to her. How can I help out my brother-in-law who is a private in the Army who just found out he is a father?

My brother-in-law is a 20 year old with a mind set of a 14 year old boy. He just graduated from basic and training two weeks ago. He took a paternity test and found out that he is the father to a two month old boy. He has orders to take him to Korea in the beginning or middle of July. He is on leave at the moment but he is running out of time fast. He is in the Army but where he is on leave there is a Navy base around 30 min away. The mother is an absolute train wreck. She doesn't bathe the baby but every three or four days and the baby has horrible diaper rash. The poor baby has open blisters and she doesn't know how to properly change a diaper to keep the baby dry. Well my b-in-law cannot get the mother onto base now because she has no picture ID, no driver's license, or state ID card. She cannot get on base to set up child support or set the baby up as his dependent in the system. (I know alot of this stuff because I am a veteran and I am an air force wife.) He is running out of time fast and I have no idea what advice to give him. I wish there was a way to extend his orders. He found out just last week that this is his child and it is completely the wrong time. Warning, this may be confusing at first. Now, is it possible that every human is good? And that they always do what they think is right? For example, during the witch hunts of the 1600's, people would capture other people, who they thought were witches, and burn them at the stake. I also believe that the path to true morals is logical and correct reasoning. Another example. If there is a serial killer who brutally kills his victims, we would view his actions as atrocious. However, if he believed that he killed certain people in order to save mankind, would his morals not be strong? It's the same as letting your child watch "Saving Private Ryan" or basically any other action movie out there. I think it is alright for kids to know such harsh things exist, but at the same time, to teach them that it is the way everything is. There is nothing to fear, because earthquakes, massacres, atrocities, they are all a part of the natural balance, no matter how horrific they seem. Living in fear does no good. Things are as they are. There is no changing them. And excluding such things from young humans only blinds them from reality.
